£20k = £23,600 inc fees and VAT. As you say, it's creeping up. But still less than than half the price of a single-turbo version on the continent. Madness.

Now at £22,150 (which is a bit over £26k after fees and VAT). Still laughably cheap, but there are almost 3 days yet to go.

Up again. Now at about £27,250 inc fees.

Now on £25k plus vat etc with 4 hours to go. This is going to go cheap by the looks of it.

Which equates to £30k inc fees, VAT and road tax. So as you say, still cheap. Indeed, if it started with a 4 I'd still see that as somewhat of a bargain. Only a few hours to go now.

Crap time of the year to be selling cars let alone classics with a big price tag.

The auction rules state that if any bids are received within the final 5 minutes, the auction then continues for a further 5 minutes (beyond the original deadline). This to give everyone fair chance to bid again, and can continue indefinitely. This system stops anyone trying to press their "send" button at the very last second, but then time it slightly wrong and miss out. Much more fair, and more likely to mean that the seller achieves the best price. Which, after all, is the legal requirement in this case of insolvency.

Has it gone to a dealer or private buyer? Time will tell. Either way, whoever bought it has done very well. It's a lovely car, and at way below current World values.

You are absolutely correct Ewan, our system worked the same. We called it the 5 minute rule. Theoretically the sale can last indefinitely, however as the price increases so do the bidding increments. Once the official sale end time it needs 5 minutes of inactivity to close down.. I have seen a sale extend for over an hour & a half for a Hummer we had from an insolvent estate.

It will be very interesting to see what the cars in Paris sell for.

For the Paris auction today, my guesses are £25k for the Trophy, £50k for the Atlantique, and £140k for the 400. Let's see how wrong I am!
