Another Atlantique 300

Postby clee » Sat Jan 14, 2017 8:51 am

Common as muck as they say ..

This one just arrived for recommission.
Check over engine as not moved in over 4 years and sat by the sea .It's got very little rot I can see so far, mostly surface .Refresh all the running gear, brakes, lines and fluids.MOT it ans see how it goes .
A few paint blemishes to attend to but all in all a very tidy example .

Has it just changed hands, or has the owner decided to start using it after 4 years in hibernation? Nice to have another one found, to add to the fold.

It must be a Ford Prefect then! :?
Actually its already on the Communaute Recensement, complete with Momo Steering wheel which seems to have luckily disappeared.

Yes I remember the mono steering wheel it looks horrible, it is nice to see it coming out. Wonder if the owner is going to cash it in or start using either way it's good to see cars like this taken out of hibernation and being used. Good work Clee as ever mate.

Yes and no ....it's all relative and most of this is getatable.
Just a lot easier to drop it all out to get at with force/heat + it makes getting at other things easier .Dropping the guts may sound dramatic but it does actually speed things up and a lot safer than swinging on the end of a 4 foot breaker bar on the ramp.Down side is I have another dead body and it's limbs all over the shop ...

Feck me that one is rotten had mine on the ramp last month and it is spotless so thought they might be galvanised however that proves they may not be! Nice to see you get to grips with one though Lee. Have fun my man.
