OK, so some of you may not know what an Autotest is. Basically it is "Skills test".
To test your mind/memory and the handling skills you have of your car (or your mates car).
We have designed a really basic course, you will easily remember "Slalom, Big turn & Return slalom".
As for the Handling skills, the course will not be tight (even a Clio v6 will have enough room) we all know if you attack and go too fast you will see the red mist, slide, spin, overshoot or nudge a cone, so it is up to your mind skills to drive within your own limits. Often a Hare & Tortoise situation ....... Slow is actually Fast overall.
You may have searched "Autotest" on Youtube. We will NOT be doing this. They will be Autotest-Special cars, drivers with 20+ years of experience, doing flick J turns and with fancy handbrakes etc. All our Tests will be forwards only and simple.

I will post up a sample Course tomorrow.

Autotest is Grass-Roots Club Motorsport. It is not fast and furious like circuit racing or expensive like a track day. It is CHEAP & FUN. You and a mate can share a car and both take part. You are not driving for hours on end so it is very social too.

To make it good fun, a spectacle to watch and an experience for new drivers, we need some more entries. These particular Tests (courses) are designed for new comers. It is only £30 and you will get to drive up the Famous Test Hill too (timed).

The Regulations (specific rules) are above with a postal Entry Form,
Enter On-Line, link above, it is much easier, saves a stamp, envelope and the hassle.

What are you waiting for?

Is anyone breathing, if not, I recently did a life saving course, and I missed a motorsport weekend for it too.

Results are attached via this link, I hope everyone can load them.

https://drive.google.com/file/d/0B1wgbk ... sp=sharing

The fastest time from each of the 3 tests are accumulated to a total.

Congratulations to :
FTD (Fastest Time of the Day) Bob Gibson in his Sprint car A110

Class 2 (Front Engined road going cars
1st in Class Steve Roderick in his Twingo R1
2nd in Class Rhys Hawkes in his Clio 182

Class 3 (Rear Engined road going cars)
1st in Class Dave Miles in his Twin Turbo GTA
2nd in Class John Law in his Fleishman GTA
3rd in Class Richard Head in his R5 Turbo 1

Notable results,
Both Bob Gibson & John Law took the hill record of 5.62 seconds (for the event we multiplied this by 10 so that it carried more weight overall)
Steve Roderick mastered Test 1 with a course winning time of 22.8
Bob Gibson ran away with Test 3 with a winning time of 18.9
Well done to Martin Hassett who managed to get his Clio v6 around the courses while handicapped by the infamous lack of steering lock.

Great selection of cars out competing, Looked like every one had Fun.

Thanks to the Marshalls, Bill Stewart (a British RallyCross finalist), Simon Gamblen, Simon Marks, Paul Prescott (a British AutoCross finalist), Helen Prescott and Nigel Patten for Marshaling and Time keeping and those club members who were able to post some photos.
