Japan version Alpine GTA ID

Postby R1313 » Tue Jul 06, 2021 10:44 am

I got problem to proof my location of the VIN number VFAD50105..... My car are a Japan version, with the Japan export series number "D501-180-J" on the topp of the spring tower. and the real fabrication number "VFAD5010500...." on the flor front/under the right drivers seat.
Need the help of other owners of Japan versions to prove the location of this number.

Will bee very grateful for pictures on the floor with this issue.
Right now I am not allowed to use my newly renovated vehicle for the authorities :(

There is nothing useful in my March 86 manual, maybe someone on here has access to the technical notes? I only have those for a 610.
Sorry.

Thanks for caring, the Japan export version got a obviously unique solution of the VIN numbers.
Does anyone know the business "Renault imp Japan"?

For knowing. The Alpine version Japan got a own VIN number, made by the Japan importer. But the VIN plate in the engine room still use the factory number, so the punched VIN its not same as the VIN on the ID plate. Good to know.

Hi R1313, I too have a Japanese import car and like you said I do see Japanese VIN and original vin on the left shock tower in the engine compartment. My car is left hand drive. Tried to look under passenger seat, but my carpets are glued down and not eager to remove them. Short of removing the carpets, if I can assist you in another way, with the VIN question, I am happy to help. Scott
