Wipers

Postby Johnhop » Sun Jun 15, 2025 4:32 pm

Hi my intermittent wipe doesn't work :
Is it likely to be the stalk or the motor?

If stalk is it easy to get off and try and clean the contacts (even test it with a bit of wire in the plug)?

If the motor does it have its own wire and terminal or is it on a relay somewhere etc?

Any other tips to get it working?

TIA

There is a connection from the wiper switch to the intermittent relay (this is behind the instrument panel) its number 114 on the wiring diagram and relay location shown.
Unfortunately the manuals all show LHD cars, so you may have to work it out for RHD.
There are (at least) 3 revisions of GTA wiring and you can find the wiring diagram as a download on French forums (you'll need to learn some rudimentary French) but the manuals also come up in English on eBay from time to time. NT8038 is the one that I took the attached pictures from, that's an 87 manual.
There are current 3 on eBay covering different GTA versions...but they go for £50-100 typically, per version.
Happy hunting
