A610 rear tyres

Postby mettersl » Sat Sep 26, 2020 7:44 pm

Hi Everyone,
I'm looking for some new tyres for my 610. Z rated tyres don't seem to be available any more and nothing much in y either, but I can probably live with w as168mph is faster than a std A610 anyway.

The fronts have lots of choice, but the rears are an issue.
The choice seems to be:-
Toyo T1R seem to have more negative reviews these days B rated in the wet.
Nanking As2+ A rated in the wet and incredible value, but you can't get this tyre for the front
Pirelli p Zeros rosso A rated in the wet but very expensive, getting close to GTA 255 rear prices (220-260 each)

Has anyone used Nanaking on the GTA or 610??
Thanks

Hi Lee I had them on the rear of mine, they are fine you would not get any where near there grip level on the road.
It’s ok to have two types of tyre as long as they are not on the same axle, Nanking I think are rated fairly well now just don’t get put of buy the name.

Thanks Custard,
I'll order them and probably go for my current favourite Uniroyal rainsports on the front. Nankings are amazing value and I won't be tracking the car anyway.

I've used Toyo T1R on the GTA for years now Lee and I really rate them in the wet. Much better than anything else I ever had on the car in my view - plenty of actual grooves to displace water as opposed to the very limited tread on a lot of tyres these days.

Having said that, I've one rear set in the garage yet to be used and then that's it as again they've stopped producing matching types for the 17 / 16 inch wheels I have. After that I may switch to the Nankangs.
I'm just here for the gasoline.

Nankangs are slowly taking advantage of the classic car tyre market, I have put a set on my Ds and I can’t fault them, don’t no how they have got away with it but they make a pretty much identical copy of the Michelin XAS tyre which the Ds requires for £60 odd each compared the the Michelin at over £200 each.
The tyre just has classic 101 on the side wall I think there name isn’t on them, I have now been thrashing the D pretty hard to find any faults and the tyres grip really well amazing considering they are 80 profile.

I get most of my tyres through Camskill as well Lee. Very competitive and never let me down.

Me too. I heard they lost their Toyo distribution........ because they were selling too cheap so Toyo just cut them off.
If you do want Toyo, I can get you 10% off.
