Brake pipes

Postby pgoldsmith » Sun Sep 27, 2020 1:44 pm

Whilst removing the windscreen washer reservoir (as it was black with gunge) I noticed that one of the factory fitted clips on the brake / clutch pipes had come loose.
Do these pipes carry any pressure?
Trying to put the factory clip back on is proving near on impossible. A jublee clip is a tad too big - as it fouls on the reservoir when it goes back.

They only carry the top up fluid down to the master cylinders so shouldn't be any pressure there. You can get plastic fuel pipe clips that can be unclipped, passed around the pipe and then ratcheted closed once fitted, they have the advantage of not being damaged by brake fluid too.

Thanks Lee.
I'll do a search for some clips (was going to cable tie it, but thought that was a bit a bodge)

Definitely not pressurised. You can use a small jubilee type clip.
