The fifth gear review was a pretty weak bit of tv to be honest.

The autocar article is good though;

Top Gear mag is definitely worth getting this month for any new Alpine fans...

Can't understand why 2 sporting drivers gave the car such glowing reviews, no negatives, yet only gave scores of 7.

The review was very poor. No mention of how the car drove on the road, or any comparison with other cars. Plus 2 so called celebrities who made ne constructive comments.

President Macron, at the Paris motor show, looks more enthusiastic.

I was at the Bicester Heritage Scramble yesterday. Fantastic event which has a wide variety of cars and met a few Alpine owners there. Friendly bunch but I can't help feel we should be out there in bigger numbers!

By comparison, I think even the Rover club outnumbered us.

Anyone going to the official Goodwood event this weekend? I was/am tempted but it's not cheap!

Sorry I missed you! Too busy wandering around and taking all the sights in, such a fantastic event and well worth the trip. Garage goals have been upped to a whole new level now.

Great to meet those that I did chat to though; a few photos of our little group below. I'm not able to make it down to the Goodwood day but from what I've seen online, it'll be a great day.

What’s happening at Goodwood should be back from our trip for that.

Alpine (official) track day. £400 odd when I looked.
never thought I would want a list but now find myself needing one just to remind me: Clio V6 230, 5 gt turbo, 5 Gordini turbo, Megane RS 300 Trophy.

There is a Piste Blue event which was advertised via the app. There are a series of them held across different tracks in Europe but the UK one seems particularly expensive for some reason.

Price is a shame although it will probably still be fully booked. A lower price would have attracted some of the classic Alpine owners.

Having booked Goodwood many times they should have been able to do it much cheaper on a winter weekday as that is the cheapest possible booking option.

Maybe the price was bumped up as they are a manufacturer and can afford it, perhaps Goodwood didn’t realise the cost would just get passed straight in to the owners.

This can’t be an alpine only day as it terns out that the wife is taking the Porsche down as it is a charity thing, £400 to do track time so open to the people who open there wallet.
Thankfully the car is not taking part but doing a parade lap, as the old Porsche’s are not an easy car to push fast unless you are used to driving them on a track, even I don’t like the feeling of the car when you push it, just like the sound of the engine.
