Postby Alpine Tom » Thu Jun 28, 2018 8:29 pm

Does anyone know if the water hoses on the Atmo D500 and Turbo D501 are the same/interchangeable look at that price?!

Only the front radiator hoses are the same. All the others are different.

Super cheap though and must be quicker than Samco’s 12+ weeks lead time at the moment.

This isn't a complete kit for an atmo. Of the hoses that are there some of the ones that are there will fit.
There are two other hoses you will need - these go from the header tank feed to the turbo cooler and back- Turbo specials...parts 24 and 26 on the part book.
I can see the main front hoses and the heater hoses, those should all be fine.
However the main rear pipes probably won't fit or will foul something- the turbo hoses have additional twists in them. I don't have a turbo to compare with. The reason I know this is my Atmo has a simon auto hose set fitted...and he supplies the turbo pattern main hoses, these fit , but not well, they don't stay in the guides and have a couple of extra wiggles the Atmo doesn't need.
There are different hose numbers from the parts book between atmo and turbo (and two age related differences too).
My hoses are new (only done 1.5k since fitted) if you get the Atmo set, I'd be happy tos wap over the turbo ones on my car in exchange for the atmo ones in this kit.
BUT...this guys supplier has his own website and lists this kit at £330...so if this guy will sell you at set at 49 dollars...you should probably buy it but check on postage and duty before you buy.

Is the Uk supplier

http://www.classicsiliconehoses.com

They are offering £333.64 delivered but again only for the Atomo, pictured below.

Mecca do a set but I’m not too sure if it’s turbo I’m going to send a message

I would be up for a swap of the rear hoses if it comes to it thanks.

Can’t beat the quality but look at the lead time!! And that’s a pretty quick one lately.

Looking at the pictures they are missing the 2 hoses from the heads to the water pump, but as Lee pointed out stuff from the USA looks cheep but shipping and duty normally makes things mour expensive.

The full Samco turbo coolant kit comprises 15 hoses in total £495

There are only 7 hoses in the classic hoses atmo kit pictured.

Hi all,

I’m ordering new water hoses for my 1989 D501 GTA turbo, the email from Simon is below any ideas what they mean about the built away oil filter. Basically which set do I need?

Hi,

thanks for your request. 2 sets are possible:

Nr. 241275-3, Complete set hoses in black silicone, with water-cooled turbo turbocharger, www.simon-auto-shop.de/241275-3

Nr. 241275-4, Complete set hoses in black silicone, with water-cooled turbo turbocharger and built away oilfilter, www.simon-auto-shop.de/241275-4

Mit freundlichen Grüßen
Kind regards
Cordialement

Andreas Simon

You want the -3 set. This has the two S shape pipes for the filter cooler that is bolted direct to the engine block. These are shown bottom middle, two the same.
The other set, -4, has two longer pipes for when this cooler/filter is remote from the block. It is mounted on the rear bumper outriggers. Must be like that on the Lemans but I've only ever seen it on the A610.

Thanks Lee always a pleasure to get advice from you.

I’ve had the front of the car apart this weekend to clean it all up a bit headlight brackets etc. and your crossmember still looks as good as the day you replaced it :up

Ordered the Simon set today.

Sorry Bit I couldn’t take the wait time on a Samco set and that really cheap set from earlier could not be ordered at all!

So what are these hoses like? Quality, Fit and branding?
I should be looking for a set shortly.
Not sure if to choose Samco-blue at £495 or Simon-Auto-black at £100 less?
Sort of prefer black a bit, but did they come with clips too?

You don't get heater matrix hoses in the Samco kit but I have a full new Samco kit for sale.
It's nearer £550 from Amber Performance and they are the cheapest you'll find + delivery is months.
