Now got the same problem, bad smell of burning and now the heater motor is knackered.

I did read something about the RHD GTA's being retrofitted with A/C.
Does anybody know what motor they used ?

It's not a massive priority but I need to move house next month and reckon I need a heater fan for demisting in January !!
Otherwise it's goint to be a cold and scary drive !!!

Got an ancient one in the garage from a Kia I'm going to try to Macgyver in for the short term to give me demisting for the move, but be nice to try to find a proper one for long term.

No markings on it, just that it's Magnetti Marelli and there's a number stencilled faintly on it which I can't quite read, could be 1204 or 4204, none of these bring up many hits

Anybody any ideas, or got one lying around for much cheapness ?

Finding an actual GTA complete AC unit will be like seeing all three bee gees again in concert.

The motor might be more achievable if you took it apart, not sure if they used a totally new motor when they retro fitted these or used the existing non ac motor.

I have one of those listed on ebay if you get stuck. Did the AC work in your car? Might be an option to go back to a standard blower if it didn't and you are not planning to get it working in the future.

I've got a complete A/C system .Pulled out of a car I'm restoring. It's got all the 'SPECIAL' fitment shizzle but I wouldn't think it works in any way.Flap to fusebox area, matrix blower box etc etc .

It's just the motor I need, the rest of the A/C seems to be intact apart from the pump which I never bothered refitting when I dropped the motor.
Don't need A/C here for the two days a year when it gets hot, so heating and demisting is all.

I saw the one on Ebay but it looks completely different to mine.

Motor is out and on the bench, let me see if I can get a couple of pics tonight, if I can identify that I'm home and dry, if all else fails, this is the leading contender so far....

So the super secret non members fan didn't fit then.

Now I'm a bit poorer and still got no fan. Sort of fits in the hole, but it's about 2 inches too high to shut the bonnet.
Is the fan housing different between A/C and non A/C cars ?

Yes housing is different. Have you mounted the new non AC fan to your existing AC housing?

Maybe you need the non AC housing as well to mount your new motor to then the bonnet should shut...

Like this:

http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/232173544727? ... 1555.l2649

The fan is side mounted, I think the AC one mounts in the top? That might be the issue...
