Spider Brakes - may fit others.

Postby davidmt » Tue Aug 16, 2016 7:12 pm

Well having uprated my brakes I have the compete OEM set to sell.

The car was sold as having new discs including EBC 'yellow stuff' race pad and their description was fair. I also have the front calipers available.

So I am selling the complete kit of as new discs and pads all round together with front calipers.

I understand that these will fit other Renault models such as the 610 - Andy Holt told me that so do your own research!

Ideally collection from Leeds or York but postage at cost - they are heavy and may need to split.

Not sure on value so I will do some research and upload some photos but feel free to PM me any offers or questions in the meantime.

Ok - these are now in various boxes in the garage and I would like to clear the space.

Does anyone have any indication of value as I will put on eBay if no-one here is interested.

Any feedback welcome.

Thanks

Final request for some help on value - have another member interested and therefore just want some general advice on selling price so both of are comfortable with the amounts etc?

There are various brake kits on eBay but no OEM sets of discs and calipers.

Thanks

Front calipers are Laguna, 60 quid each new, rear ones are special to the a610/spider, they are more difficult to value, overhaul is 110 a side but they may need this anyway as the handbrake mechanism ages. Do they have the carriers too?
Pads are 30 for fronts and 45 for rears new. BEC yellow stuff don't have the best repuatauion and you'll need to have matched the. to the discs the came from. Discs are more difficult to source, new 120 a pair, upwards, price seems to be quite volatile. Secondhand Hard to value like pads.
Is that any use?

If I were selling them I would be asking £50 a pair for the discs (if good) and £30 for the pair of front calipers (as the right honourable Mr Metters says it's the rears that are more highly prized). . Possibly £150 for the lot with the pads although even I wouldn't fit second hand pads and that's saying something.

Thanks - got a good handle on the discs and front calipers now.

Any thoughts on the rear calipers?

Sorry I didn't know you had the rear calipers as well. They have to be £75 each if in good condition.

Ok - finally taken some photos of the brake kit to put on eBay but will do a better price here.

Front calipers and pads:

Discs all round:

In fantastic condition (were described as new when I bought the car).

Rear pads as new:

Having taken soundings then I was thinking £200 for the lot. Ideally collect from Leeds/York but could ship at cost. I am estimating that with the weight it would cost around £30 to ship (in 2 separate boxes).

Let me know - will put on eBay later this week.

for shipping I can suggest you use:
http://www.interparcel.com (they use UPS)
Parcel2go
Also, Royal Mail can be an easy option, especially if post office is next door.

Do you still have the rear Calipers? Probably the most valuable part.
