Drive out 2.0

Postby miles thomas » Sat May 07, 2022 12:14 pm

Ok this year I will be attempting to plan a drive out for club members along the lines of last years.
The date is the 30th July and we are going to be starting from Petersfield just of the A3. From here we will explore the river Test and Avon valleys. Meet up at 09:30 place to be arranged and the drive will include a lunch stop and hopefully directions will be in the form of Tulips.
This is just to give everyone a heads up so if you are coming from some distance you have time to book a hotel.
More information to follow and so far we have 5 cars signed up. :up

Lee great to know you are coming along. Would love to see the A610 but if not it will be nice to see you for a catch up, it's been too long. Come in the Smart or anything that moves just be nice to have you along.

Rupert it will be great to see you I have tried to move the drive out a little your way. Some of the group will be staying in Petersfield Friday night so if you are coming up you could join us for dinner maybe. Also some of us are going to stay over on Saturday and go to a National trust on Sunday, all are welcome to join us there before going of home in the afternoon.

What would you like to know? Planning the route this month and will test it. This will give me an idea of timings, till then I don't have a lot more to add.

Miles,
Now that I'm living back in the South and Petersfield is within reach, I will join your drive out day.

Hello Nigel that's really good news, will be great to catch up.
I've got a bit more information to post but things have been a bit busy just need to find some time and get things sorted. Hopefully get some more details up on Sunday , maybe sooner. :)

Hi Miles,

Petersfield is about 35 miles from me so I'm hoping to attend in my A610 but I will probably be by myself so if there are instructions to follow then I might just have to follow another car,

Cheers, Barry.

More info for the Drive out 2.0 on the 30th July.
https://www.thenesthotelburiton.co.uk/home
This is the starting meet point from 9:30 ready to be on our way by 10:00. The hotel is happy to do coffee if you want but our first stop is only just over an hour away for morning coffee.
Lunch stop is at Kimbridge Barn
01794 339444 you will need to book your own table as it is a Saturday and they get very busy, they do have walk-ins but if you don't book you may have a long wait .
After lunch we have about half an hour to our last stop of the day a museum. You should have about 2 hours if you want to look round before they close or there is another cafe for tea and tyre kicking before you make your own way home.
Route planning is almost done and the tulips are being worked out as I type. I'm hoping to drive the route but this month is very full already and we may all end up on a voyage of discovery if I can't check things out. :crazy

Re: Drive out 2.0 Saturday 30th July 2022.

Postby Bazzer501 » Tue Jul 05, 2022 2:03 pm

Hi Miles/all,

I've just booked a table for lunch at 1.30 pm at Kimbridge Barn via Becky. She said if members indicate they are with RAOC when they book she will try and get a group of tables together so we can all be together,

Cheers, Barry.
