Barbon Manor

Postby peterg » Tue Jun 15, 2004 9:35 pm

With the car about 1/2 way to what I want (as usual) I will be competing at Barbon Manor hillclimb in Cumbria....I recall someone on the forum went in May.....with any luck my nice 17" wheels will have arrived. Will be going hell for leather despite not having driven the car much

Class win!!!!! 8) 8) 8) 8) Out of 9...beat 2 911s a Lotus Sunbeam and a TVR Griffith to name but some......mostly down to the car, which despite me having previously named her J-Lo (fit but temperamental!) performed faultlessly on the day.

There will be pics.....as soon as someone decides to have them developed (no digital cameras amongst my attendants!!!!) and I can scan them. I will check the Westmorland MC (organisers) site and see if they have anything.....they normally post pics after every event.

Where in Aintree, what day and what time?

I am quite local and might try to get along for some spectating.

(Unless there's something needs fixing on my GTA, again! )

Its this Saturday (25th) at the circuit inside the Aintree horse racing complex (apparently!). Ive never been there, but theres a huge entry, complete with a reserve list as too many people want to run.....theres also an A110 on the list in the pre 1975 sports car category...which will be nice to see. Dont think theyre charging either......unlike Barbon where it was £7 for entry!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! I wont be winning a trophy this week as the oppostition looks a bit too modern and hi tech (Nissan Skyline, Subaru Impreza, Porsche Boxster) but you never know they may drive like girls.....and I certainly wont be! 8)

Good luck!

I'm sure you'll embarrass a few drivers of more modern machinery, indeed driving like girls! :D

Sadly, looks like I'll be fixing the old rear engined heap again this weekend! (overheating)

Don't worry, Im not losing my Alpine faith, just my patience!

Hi Peter

Email them to me with some more info or a short article and I will add a motorsport news type section to the main site.

I was looking at your other pictures last night trying to work out where to put them.

Peter,
Why not post a list of events that you are running in for the rest of the season. You never know, you may end up with a small fan club to cheer you on as you blast off the oposition? Anything in the South maybe ???
