Hi folks thought I would give you guys an accommodation tip off for the RWS as I know it was hard last year as time got closer.

Check out hotel bookings via http://airporthotels.essentialtravel.co.uk/ and key in east midlands airport. I got a single room at the Thistle for £84 this morning.

This site is siginificantly cheaper than booking direct and offer excellent rates. There is quite a lot of availability at the moment or rather this morning at least.

Laterooms may also still have some availability but not at the Thistle.

I guess you can never please everybody. Lets admit it, crowd wise, this is the biggest car racing event outside the British GP (and its attendance is not that much lower and its probably only the freebee hospitality crowd that make the difference). those who gave the negative feedback were probably happier at Donington a few weekend back when I was there last for the Dunlop "best of British" when one man and his dog (oops, no dogs allowed) showed up and there was absolutly no atmosphere and the burgers still cost £4.50.
As for drunken louts, the british GP attracts shed loads of them and that is hardly a free event now is it.
A great day and I bet Renault won some customers from it and we dont see any other major car company doing anything remotly like it.
never thought I would want a list but now find myself needing one just to remind me: Clio V6 230, 5 gt turbo, 5 Gordini turbo, Megane RS 300 Trophy.

I enjoyed it I must say, the only quibbles were a 2 year old walking round with a can of Stella  (I very nearly went over to say something but didn't through fear of getting Knifed!). I also didn't like the megane who had a new stereo for his his/her birthday.

Tip for you with regard to burger/food prices, take your own food or wait till very late on as I was greeted with a lincolnshire sausage bap for a nicker picker as it was getting close to the end :D

Also I very nearly sold my car to one of the histoire car Drivers, Turbodog knows his name? He never came back though
