Well, this will be the most embarrasing report I have to make to date.

Of the 96 drivers who entered this mamouth event, team RAOC did do rather well, even if we did have a few ringers, women and disabled drivers and ex-pro's amounst us.

Attached are the results of all the heats for the top 22 drivers who made (or scraped) it onto the semi's followed by the results of the Grand Final.

Thanks to all those that participated Stephen, Tony, Jules, Si, Martin and Alex, I hope you enjoyed yourselves.

Read into it what you like, but I think my kart must have had some dini parts in it.   Results or I trod in the right stuff recently.

Had a fantastic time Lost my karting virginity LOL

Postby si21 » Mon Apr 02, 2007 6:32 pm

)So Mmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmuch fun, was trying far too hard on the first 3 races getting far too sideways, 3 half spins and game over, (never thought I'd hear myself say too far sideways   ). Finally in the 4th round I got my act together taking a 3rd from 4th place on the grid and managing to go flat all the way down the top straight and around the large spectators bend, so in the final heat i get from 3rd upto 2nd and theres a massive pile up behind me (not caused by me this time    ) and the leader and myself dont see the red lights until too late!!! I get black flagged     will definately go again Simon.

I learned a lot that evening, mainly not to shoot your mouth off in the briefing!!! eh Simon LOL

Thanks to Simon for organising that, I had a really great time  8)

T'was a riot and set me straight on the not-great-fun time I'd had before in a kart. Still have the bruise on my back though :D And I'll be winding Alex up mercilessly about actually overtaking him in the final.... (I've seen his trophy cabinet from anything up to 250 gearbox karts - but has never actually done indoor karting! I think the lack of grip and any kind of real power was bothering him somewhat :) )

....has to be said though that the karts definitely weren't all equal, and the way they sorted them for each race meant the faster karts were naturally selected for pole on the next race.

Si and I both got the kart that handled like a greased weasel...

If you fell like organising another one, Simon, I'll be in for sure.

ROUND 2?????

After the success of last time is anyone up for more karting??, me and a few mates are looking to book Prokarts at Buckmore Park on the 7th July @ 14:15, its a bit pricy 70-75 quid for 2 hours on the full circuit, but last time we all got to run in each race so there was no sitting around.

Let me know as soon as if you interested
