Wake up Peter, that's some one taking the beer from your tent.

Good luck and I hope you don't need your umbrella.

It turned into a lovely day! Came 6th out of 11...should have been 5th but I had an extremely hairy moment that nearly involved the front of my GTA being introduced to Armco barrier at 40mph......lost me at least a second and 5th place........and gained me a change of underpants

Well done.
any reason (apart from speed) for the hairy moment?

The hairy moment came after I had done a near perfect bottom section of the course (which is the technical bit) and my brother reckoned other cars were getting the power on earlier out of the corner into the main straight where the speed trap was (I was disappointed I only clocked 69mph through it when I thought I'd be doing over 70). Unfortunately having done so well I got a bit over enthusiastic and rammed the power on too early and had a sideways one way, sideways the other, back the other way moment before regaining control on the grass just inches from Mr Armco and loosing at least a second or two!
1st in class was an Evo7 with a WRC rally spec engine, 2nd a BMW E36 M3 with carbon fibre bonnet run by a BMW motorsport specialist, 3rd was a very developed Nissan Skyline.......and I should have been 4th!!!!!! I beat an original shape M3, a tuned MINI Cooper S, a Chevette HSR, a R21 turbo and a Lotus Sunbeam. The 2 who beat me but shouldnt were a 325 (tuned obviously) and an XR4i with a 3.7 version of its normal engine...and a reputed 320lbsft of torque!!!! I was never going to win the Evo and BMW were in a class of their own, but with a bit of tweaking and practice I should beable to have the Skyline!!!!
