* Register with RAOC (Renault Alpine Owners’ Club UK)

Attendance at these events on the Renault H&C Trophy calendar earns owners points towards an award and prizes at the end of the season. For example a GTA or Clio V6 would earn 8 points for an event, a 5 Turbo or R8G 10 points and a Renault 8S or 4CV 15 points. These are totted up by Renault Heritage at the end of the season and winners (30-59 = Bronze, 60-89 = Silver, 90+ = Gold) are invited to Renault HQ (Square Com) in Paris for an awards ceremony and champagne reception at the end of the season in December.

Thanks to the inclusion of ‘La Vie en Bleu 2’ it is now possible for a collector with a qualifying vehicle worth 10 or more points to obtain a Bronze trophy in 2008 by attending all three UK events. However you must register your intention to participate before the deadline (date TBA) at the start of the season. This cannot be done retrospectively. If you are not on the H&C mailing list or do not know how to register, please get in touch and we can provide you with the relevant forms and information.

Members and collectors should note that these are not the only events on the RAOC calendar this year but they are the only ones that will earn points towards H&C Trophies 2008. Please consult the RAOC website (www.renaultalpine.co.uk) or forum for the full list of events during 2008.

Yes 3rd & 4th is the correct date. It was changed after the original announcement. Shame as it clashes with Macon which is where most of us (and some of H&C) will be going.

The registration forms for the Collectors' Area (paddock or infield parking) have just been released and you will find them here:

http://www.renaultalpineownersclub.com/ ... rstone.pdf

The collectors' area and events will follow a similar format to previous years at Donington.

You will need a paddock pass to park in the collectors' area. You do not need to apply separately for WSR tickets as these will be sent with your pass.

Vehicles will be parked in one of three zones.

Zone 1: Vintage: dedicated to standard production cars up to 1975 and their derivatives, excluding Alpine and sports models.

Zone 2: Classic & Alpine: dedicated to sports and collectable versions of production cars up to 1990, as well as all Alpine models.

Zone 3: Modern & Renault Sport: dedicated to sports and collectable versions of production cars beyond 1990, as well as Renault Sport models.

The parade laps are scheduled as follows:

The Saturday drive shall be devoted to all vehicles from Zone 3 (Provisional Time: 12:00 -12:30)

The Sunday drive shall be devoted to all vehicles from Zone 1 & 2 (Provisional Time: 9:45 -10:25)

There will be a Concours d'Elegance on Saturday as usual and a Gala Evening on Saturday Night.

I have been asked to limit numbers to 300 so places will be offered on a first come first served basis.

The venue and cost of the gala evening will be announced shortly.

If you have any queries please do not hesitate to get in touch:

Hope to see you there...

Regards
Stephen

Nurburgring WSR is no longer a H&C registered event an the H&C team and drivers will not be attending and, it also means no H&C points for attending.

Whats more if we want to participate, we need to arrange it with D ARC.

They fell out big time last year and it looks like things haven't improved.

A real shame, so thanks to the germans that means no gold for Andy & no silver for Gary or me and a few others. Also means we probably won't bother going to some of the other events now like WSR Le Mans as we don't need the points anymore and it's too far for just a visit.

WSR Nurburgring was a great trip last year and now it's probably off for most.

Is anyone still considering going?

yes we are still going, little bit disappointed considering Renault are still advertising it as being a wsr event on their calendar on their web site. we have got to book our holidays, hotels and ferry crossings early so now they are booked we are still going.

Martin, it is still a WSR event. It is only the H&C that are not doing it.
To clarify, this means the event will still include all the H&C races and probably a track parade for collectors. (although we have to arrange this with the German organising club.) What wont be there will be the high speed racing displays (older F1 cars, Lemans cars and the rally cars) and none of the associated drivers and no H&C points awarded to those who attend. Should still be a good event and of course the big attraction next door is open both Saturday and Sunday this year. (at least it is being shown as open at the moment although these times often change at short notice).

Probably should have just left it so someone else could have gone and collected it on your behalf. Hopefully they will still make a trophy for you.

Didn't you fancy a romantic weekend in Paris
