Gents,

You will be pleased to see that my lobbying has managed to get the 4WD cars into a class of their own for 2009. My ratinale was accepted by the chapionship manager and he is hoping that this will increase registrations for 2009...... so I am relying on you all.

Sprinting & Hillclimbing is budget Motorsport, so lets see you out there next year.

1. TITLE AND JURISDICTION

The 2009 ACSMC Sprint Championship, the 2009 ACSMC Sprint Challenge & the 2009 ACSMC Hillclimb Championship are organised and administered by the Association 0f Central Southern Motor Clubs in accordance with the General Regulations of the Royal Automobile Club Motor Sports Association (incorporating the provisions of the International Sporting Code of the FIA) and these Championship Regulations.

In these regulations the word “championship” relates to The Sprint Championship, Sprint Challenge and The Hillclimb Championship unless they are specifically referred to.

3. COMPETITOR ELIGIBILITY

3.1Drivers and Entrants/Drivers must be a member of a club affiliated with the ACSMC, be registered for the Championship and be in possession of a valid and appropriate MSA Competition/Entrants License (minimum Non Race National B).
3.2All necessary documentation must be presented for checking when signing-on.

4. REGISTRATION

4.1Drivers must register as competitors for the appropriate Championship by returning the Registration Form (completed in full) with the correct registration fee to the Championship Registrations Secretary. Such registration will only be complete when written acceptance, in the form of a registration card has been issued by the Championship Registrations Secretary. Incomplete or unsigned forms will be rejected and dishonoured cheques will result in removal of the contender from the Championship and a report being made to the Championship Stewards.
4.2Accepted registrations will apply only in respect of one competitor in a specified car. However, dual registrations are allowable for the same car. Should the competitor wish to change class during the series, points accumulated for the previous car will be not be accumulated for the new car. In the event of damage or non-availability due to mechanical fault of the contender's specified registered car at any championship round, a substitute car may be used provided it is in the same class and is a permanent replacement for the rest of that championship. Substitute cars entered in any other class will not gain championship points for the contender. The registered car entered in the regulations for the event will be the only car able to gain championship points. The competitor must inform the championship co-ordinators of any change to cars or class in writing.
4.3Registrations will not be accepted for either championship after September 1st 2009.
4.4The registration fee for the :
2009 ACSMC Sprint Championship is £ 15.00. (This includes automatic entry to the Sprint Challenge)
2009 ACSMC Hillclimb Championship is £ 10.00
to be submitted with the completed registration form. Cheques should be payable to the ACSMC.
4.5 It is a condition of acceptance for The 2009 ACSMC Championships that all registered contenders MUST display sponsors’ advertising material as supplied by the Championship Co-ordinator.
5. CHAMPIONSHIP ROUNDS
5.1 The 2009 ACSMC Sprint Championship will be run at National B status, dates and events as listed in the Championship Calendar above with the best 8 scores to count. The organisers reserve the right to substitute nominated events in the case of Force Majeure. If the number of rounds held falls to below 8 scoring rounds, then the score will be decided from two less than the number of actual rounds held. The minimum number of rounds for the championship will be 6.
5.2 The 2009 ACSMC Sprint Challenge will also be run at National B status, dates and events as listed in the Championship Calendar above with all the scores to count. The organisers reserve the right to substitute nominated events in the case of Force Majeure.
5.3 The 2009 ACSMC Hillclimb Championship will be run at National B status, dates and events as listed in the Championship Calendar above with the best 9 scores to count. The organisers reserve the right to substitute nominated events in the case of Force Majeure. If the number of rounds held falls to below 8 scoring rounds, then the score will be decided from two less than the number of actual rounds held. The minimum number of rounds for the championship will be 6.

Contenders will be notified of these additions by ACSMC Council Meeting minutes, ACSMC “Speed News” and the ACSMC web site.
6.POINTS SCORING

6.1Base points will be awarded to contenders listed as classified finishers in the final results of each event as follows:
1st contender in Class - 10 points 4th contender in Class - 7 points
2nd contender in Class - 9 points reducing by 1 point and so on until
3rd contender in Class - 8 points 9th contender in Class - 2 points
All other starters - 1 point
(A starter will be defined as a competitor who has attempted the first practice run of the event).
Each registered contender will also be awarded an additional 0.1 (zero decimal one) point for every ACSMC Contender beaten in his / her Class. Class points will be awarded relative to ACSMC contenders ONLY.

Contenders will also be able to pre-nominate an additional event to act as a “Joker”, which will also score double base points on the 2009 ACSMC Sprint Championship ONLY. This event MUST be nominated on the Championship Registration Form provided, and MUST be an event which will be held AFTER the date of registration. NO changes to this nominated event will be accepted whatsoever unless the event is cancelled by the organisers or exceptional circumstances prevail.

The 2009 ACSMC Hillclimb Championship will also have a Top Six Challenge with points awarded as follows
Fastest Overall - 6 points 3rd Fastest - 4 points
2nd Fastest - 5 points and so on down to 6th - 1 point

6.2Ties:
In the event of a tie for a championship or class award, this will be determined in favour of the contender who has scored the most 1st in class and then 2nd in class, etc. If the tie is still not resolved, it will be decided in favour of the first contender to score points, and then by lowest capacity vehicle. In the event of a tie for the Top Six Challenge, this will be determined in favour of the contender who has scored the most 1st overall placings and then 2nd overall placings etc.
6.3 Bonus Points:
Competitors who have acted as an official or marshal (in any capacity other than event steward) on any two rounds of any event run as a part of an ACSMC Championship ( i.e. Speed or Rally) will be awarded five bonus points for each event. Note that to collect an award, a competitor must have marshalled or officiated at least at 1 event.
Bonus points may be claimed by returning the signed claim form to the Championship Co-ordinator within seven days of the event, nominating which Championships the points should be assigned. This score will NOT count as a scoring round and will be additional to any regular points scored throughout the championship. Bonus points may not be claimed on an event where the contender has signed-on as a competitor. No awards will be presented to contenders whose only points have come from this bonus scheme. Bonus points will not be considered as points scoring rounds in the tie deciding method.
6.4 Where individual events run to different class structures than those of the championship the results will be adjusted and scored according to the contender’s registered class.
6.5 The championship results will be maintained by the Championship Co-ordinator.
6.6 Periodic notification of intermediate and final markings will be sent to all contenders in the championships via the ACSMC Speed News”. This information may also be available on the ACSMC web site www.acsmc.org.uk .
6.7 The championship results will be declared as provisional by the Championship Co-ordinator at the end of the championship by written notification to all contenders. Results will be declared final within 7 days of the date of publication subject to no written protests having been received. If any protests are received, these will dealt with accordingly, and should these have an affect upon the overall results, new provisional results will be issued followed by a further 7 day period for protest. As C (d).65 of the 2008 MSA Yearbook.
7. AWARDS
Note that to be eligible for an award, a competitor must have competed in at least 4 events on each of the championships.
7.1 KING OF LYDDEN CUP.
This trophy is for both marshals and competitors registered for the 2009 ACSMC Sprint Championship There will be only one award, which will be given to the person with the most points from the Lydden Hill rounds on the ACSMC calendar.
Rules:
1.Points will be allocated as per 6.1 of the ACSMC’s Sprint and Hillclimb regulations, excluding the Joker component. There will be no class structure for the competition
2.In the event of a tie the results will be decided as per 6.2 of the regulations.
7.2 THE F.D.M.C. PRODUCTION CUP.
This trophy, which has been presented by Farnborough District Motor Club, will be given to the person with the most points scored driving a car that meets the “Standard Production” Regulations for cars entered in Classes A0 and A1.
7.3 2009 ACSMC Sprint Championship
All championship awards will be provided by the ACSMC and the championship sponsors.

Awards for the Championship in the form of trophies will be presented as follows:
1st Overall - The ACSMC Rose Bowl and an Award
2nd Overall - The Neil Davison Goodwood Plate and an Award
Class Awards - 1st An Award
Classes of 8 or more contenders - 1st & 2nd An Award
Classes of 12 or more contenders - 1st, 2nd & 3rd An Award
Overall Best Novice - 1st An Award


7.4 2009 ACSMC Sprint Challenge:
Awards in the form of trophies will be presented as follows:

Class Awards - 1st An Award

7.5 2009 ACSMC Hillclimb Championship:
Awards for the Championship in the form of trophies will be presented as follows:

1st Overall - An Award
Classes of less than 8 contenders - 1st An Award
Classes of 8 or more contenders - 1st & 2nd An Award
Classes of 12 or more contenders - 1st, 2nd & 3rd An Award
Overall Best Novice - 1st An Award
Top Six Challenge Winner - Neil Davison Goodwood Trophy

7.6 A novice will be defined as a competitor in his / her first full season of competition and has not won a 1st in Class Award or better on a Sprint or Hillclimb event or Championship.
7.7 Other awards may be presented at the discretion of the organisers and sponsors. Details will be supplied as and when appropriate.
For both main Championships, no contender, other than Best Novice may win more than one award (Overall or First in Class).
7.8 Entertainment Tax Liability: The ACSMC accepts no responsibility for any taxes payable.
7.9 The Championships Awards Presentation will be held in Jan/Feb/March 2010. The location, date and time will be notified to all award winners by personal invitation and to all contenders in the ACSMC Speed News.
8 JUDICIAL:
Judicial procedures for both individual rounds and each overall championship will be in accordance with C (d) of the 2008 MSA Yearbook.
9. CATEGORIES AND CLASSES
For the purposes of marking, vehicles will be divided into the following categories and classes:

Standard Production Cars (Excluding cars in Appendix 1)
0. Up to 1400cc
1. Over 1400cc to 2000cc

B. Road Going Saloon and Sports Cars (Excluding cars in Appendix 1)
2. Up to 1400cc - 2wd
3. Over 1400cc to 2000cc – 2wd
4. Over 2000cc - 2wd
5. 4wd

C. Road Going Kit Type Cars and Replica Cars (Including cars in Appendix 1)
6. Up to 1700cc
7. Over 1700cc

D. Modified Production Sports and Saloon Cars (Excluding cars in Appendix 1)
8. Up to 1400cc
9. Over 1400cc to 2000cc
10. Over 2000cc

E. Single Seater and Sports Libre Cars
11. Special Saloons, Group B and GT1 Sports Cars, World Rally Cars, Kit Type Cars and Replicas [of any capacity] and any other cars not complying with any of the above classes.
12. Single Seater and Sports Racing Cars up to 1500cc
13. Single Seater and Sports Racing Cars Over 1500cc

Appendix 1
Excluded cars for Categories A,B & D
Caterham, Westfield, Sylva, Fisher and Lotus 7, Elise, Exige and 340R, Vauxhall 220 - and derivatives of any of these cars

Note: Cars using forced induction will be classified as having an engine capacity increase of 40%, those using diesel fuel a reduction of 30% (e.g. a 2000cc turbo diesel will be considered to be the equivalent to a 1960cc normally aspirated petrol engine).
To compete in a Single Seater Racing or Sports Libre Car, manufactured after 31/12/1960 of more than 2000cc, the driver must hold a Speed National A [OPEN] or Race National A licence unless the car is currently licensed for use on the public highway, in accordance with I.20. Sports Libre cars include Special Saloons and Sports Racing cars as in I.123-132.

In the event of a dispute concerning the compliance of a vehicle to the regulations for the event the onus will be on the competitor to prove the compliance to the organisers.


SUPPLEMENTARY TECHNICAL REGULATIONS 2008

ALL VEHICLES MUST COMPLY WITH MSA SAFETY REGULATIONS

Definitions of Categories A, B, C, D and E (MSA Year Book Regulations I.46-I.132 are not negated by these regulations).

Category A: Standard Production Cars

No modifications are permitted unless stated below:-
Wheels up to 1" wider are permitted but must be of original diameter. Replacement shock absorbers are permitted provided that they are of the same method of operation and have the same location points as standard. Coil and leaf springs must remain as standard. Replacement brake pads of any material may be fitted but brake discs and calipers must remain as standard.  The front seats only and the steering wheel may be changed. It is permitted to install an approved roll cage and replacement seat belts or safety harnesses. Apart from these items no part of the car may be modified in any way, no additional parts may be fitted and nothing discarded. 4WD cars are not eligible for this class.

Categories B & C: Road Going Cars

Cars may be modified subject to the following:
The main chassis structure, suspension configuration and the number of seats must remain as standard. No internal trim may be removed (except carpets), the back seat(s) must be complete and of the original type. The front seats may be replaced but both must be capable of carrying a normal adult in a reasonably safe and comfortable manner.
All glass and its raising and lowering mechanism must remain as originally fitted (except windscreen, which may be replaced with one of laminated glass if not fitted as standard). Cars in Category C may use aeroscreens.
The bonnet, doors and boot lid need not be of the original material but the silhouette above the centre line of the wheels must remain as standard. Wheel arch extensions are not permitted unless fitted as standard. The original type of cylinder block, cylinder head, gearbox casing and differential casing are to be retained, and in their original position.

Category D: Modified Production Saloon and Sports Cars

Production derived vehicles not complying with the requirements of Categories A and B. Cars must comply with MSA Year Book Regulation (I) 82-102.

Category E: Single Seaters and Sports Libre Cars.

As MSA Regulations

Tyres:
Cars in Categories A&B may only use tyres in List 1A of the MSA Year Book Regulation C (e) Cars in Category C may use tyres in List 1A or List 1B of the MSA Year Book Regulation C (e). It is recommended that those open top cars in Category C that use List 1B tyres install an approved roll cage. Tyres using a crossply construction are not permitted in Category C.

General restrictions applicable to categories A, B and C
Cars must be taxed, insured and MOT tested (where necessary), and road legal in all respects. Documentation must be produced at signing-on to verify this. Only those cars listed in the price lists of Top Gear, What Car, Autocar and Motor magazines for the year of manufacture are eligible for classes A and B.


THE USE OF TRADE PLATES IS NOT PERMITTED.

Thats great news, I know as soon aas I saw Scoobies and Evo's all I did was count those cars and thought if the others break down the best I can do is 5th :lol: :lol: :lol:

It would certainly give me more incentive, I am hoping to get the Atmo up and running reliably soon, I can then enter some events in a road going class. I am certainly hoping to acheive more than I did this season which was only Prescott, an off in the wet there as well was the highlight of my year :roll: ; my times not really reflecting what I feel I could have achieved, judging from certain split times. All I know is that it has made me more determined to learn from my mistakes and string together some decent times.

I will do my best to do as many events as I can next year on my limited budget.
