Impromptu South East Meet Sun 1st March - MBW @ Brooklands

Postby stephendell » Wed Feb 25, 2009 2:53 am

NOW DEFINATE!!

It's my bday on Thursday and rather than drag some of you over here on a Thursday night I thought I'd pander to some of the Surrey members and kill a couple of birds with one stone.

We have talked about trialling a Sunday meet to gauge popularity for a while so this is a good excuse.

A few people have made suggestions (including North Weald, Goodwood breakfast meet - but it's minis and hot hatches this time etc) but Mr Law has come up with a decent possibility.

He fancies a nose around Brooklands / Mercedes Benz World which is in Weybridge KT13 0SL. Also its free! Well MBW is. The Brooklands Museum is £8

Mercedes-Benz World is just a few minutes from Junction 10 of the M25. Follow the A3 towards London taking the first exit and turn left at the roundabout onto the A245 (signposted to Weybridge). Continue along the A245 for approximately 1.5 miles. At the second roundabout turn right onto Sopwith Drive.

Continue straight over two roundabouts, you have arrived at Mercedes-Benz World.

So how about meeting there just before lunch maybe 11.00am and then going onto one of the following two Harvester pubs for lunch.

The Yeoman West Byfleet
Old Woking Road
Wesy Byfleet
Surrey
KT14 6JA
Tel: 01932344553

2.63 miles away from Brooklands

The Otter
Guildford Road
Ottershaw
Chertsey
KT16 OPQ
Tel: 01932873217

3.61 miles away from Brooklands

Both have large car parks and are running a special £4.99 deal for a main course + unlimited Salad bar.

So that's less than a fiver for everything!!

If you're interested or are local and know which pub is best then please post below.

And for those of you in the area, no more complaining that we only ever meet at SE16!

Well what do you think? Any takers?

PS No present required, the bday is just an excuse.
