But not as quick as ex Stephen dell racing spider, that was seriously quick or driven by a man possessed.

Both lol. Rapid car and top driver. Fraser Sheader. He was a little bit better than Lewis Hamilton back in the karting day but didn't get the lucky break.

Just a quick thankyou to those who wished us luck in getting on the boat,
Clearly, most of you reading this thread now know that after waiting on the pier for 3 hours, they found us a spot on the rarher crowded boat, but ........ then we were informed there would be a further delay, meaning we got to tha Travelodge at 02.30 am. But we got to the track at about 08.30, and had a great time meeting old and new faces which was great for me.
Sue and I would like to thank Stephen and Shaun for a fantastic event ...... we really enjoyed it and were able to keep awake all day.
we will still be in the UK till the end of the week when we hope to get home on the ferry ....... all being well.

Well done to all involved what a great day. I dont know where the time went so much to do,track time, judging and talking to old and new friends maybe it needs to be a two day event.
I would like to just say that some cars seemed to go after lunch and from the photos posted i think some possible winers have misted out which was a shame :( Still a good event all the same :up

I really admired all the Alpines. A bit too big for wee me, but these are beautiful cars indeed.

It was a day I shall never forget.

Wow, what a Fantastic Day ..... Huge thanx to Stephen and all who made it possible !
I was the only Avantime on display, and was amazed at the amount of attention she got !! .... It put a huge grin on my face !!
And also massive thanx to Paul Sage, who gave me the ride of my life in his A310 ... I haven't had a thrill on that level since I raced Motocross back in the 70's ... when I was just a 20 something !
Please can we do it again next year ?
And, if we can get 6 or so Avantimes to attend, could we have our own race for 15 mins ?? :-)

Had a great day with an excellent atmosphere- thank you to Miles for making amazing cakes to tempt people to my trade stand with :D

Also a big thanks to Jim Valentine for taking people out on hot laps throughout the day in the A310 comp car.

One of the best track day circuits I've been on, felt really well suited to the Alpines. Roll on next year!

The Le Mans classic material is shared ownership between the two people who misappropriated it ;-)

Postby JohnC » Sun Aug 31, 2014 4:48 pm

Just a final word on my ill-fated start to the Goodwood event. The following day we went up to North Wales to visit Sue's relatives, and then spent a day in Chester then down to the New Forest for a couple of days to visit Beaulieu Motor Museum before catching the ferry on Friday afternoon back home.
We had a trouble free 721 miles in total, and the only time I had to get my tools out for was to lend to a guy to fix his Micro Lite at Goodwood. :)
As I said before, the event was brilliant and meeting members that I had not met before was a bonus for me. The only trouble was that only when I got back to the Hotel, I realised that I missed out on some whom I had hoped to meet. Next year, when I am sure the event will be repeated, I will make a list of those attending that I have not had the pleasure of meeting before, so I won't miss out again.
Once again, Thanks to Stephen, Shaun, and Brett who together thought up and saw through the whole event brilliantly.
All being well, we will be back next year ...... ferry permitting. ;)
