Classic Car Picnic, Polo and Band. 14th June.

Postby simontaylor » Sat May 31, 2014 9:51 am

All,

Last year the Pininfarina celebration took place here.
It was a good day out.
Read the attached link..... band was a good rocking event too and did not finish too late. scroll down for the invited music guests.
http://www.hurtwoodparkpolo.co.uk/events/rock-n-horsepower
Suitable for children too. All for charity, hope the sun shines, maybe see some of you there.
I will be there for the day soaking up the atmosphere.

You need to register before the 6th June.
If it is raining badly..... well it's £20 for charity :up

I think it sounds good too but got nothing running that could even vaguely be considered a supercar :-(

I believe the gates open at 10.
I aim to arrive about 11 to 11-30 ish.

Don't forget sun cream !
And to print out your electronic ticket too.

I can't remember what the club facilities were last year....... but I am taking a picnic and drink with me for the day.
I seem to remember it is a members only club for restaurant, not sure on the bar.

This is not looking good for me at the moment. Currently immobile.
But you never know stranger things have happened.

Thanks for the heads up on this one, we had a great time, couldn't believe the line up for such a small venue, just loved the Who!.We should put it in the diary for next year and do a club display. There was a silver 5T2 looking very nice, I don't know who it belongs to, but between us we flew the flag for Renault amongst a sea of Ferraris.

That was my white T2; it was a lovely venue and thanks for the original poster that gave the heads up. It was a bit muddy on the way out; hope all those Ferraris with their flappy paddles and the like managed to slide out ok! Would recommend for next year; nice mix of cars there; I was parked next to John Young's Gull wing Merc which has to be my dream car of all time! Cheers Simon

Oh yes, the fat ar5ed Ferraris, mine included got out no problem.
Just had to clean the mud off the tyres once onto the tarmac road, no problem and sorted with a kick from the right foot in about 3 seconds.

Procal Harum, - Whiter Shade of Pale.
Moody Blues - Nights in White Satin,
Alvin Stardust
Damien Hill (just stumming to a couple of numbers)
Mick Hucknell
Judie Tzuke
Mike and the Mechanics
were some of the other performers that played good numbers before the Who climaxed and closed the show.

Unfortunately the compare/comedian/Vic Reeves was as poor as pi55ed.

Great Picnic too, lots of Bubbly and smoked Salmion sandwiches with Strawberries too.
My good lady had a great day out with me even though her interest in cars is "zero".
