Donington Historic Festival 28th to 30th April 2017

Postby John Sweet » Sun Mar 19, 2017 9:52 pm

Club Alpine Renault have a club space with discount tickets for the historic festival. All RAOC members welcome. Last day for booking using the discount code is 23rd of April. If you are interested in coming along - please email me on john.sweet99@gmail.com for the discount code. Cost will be £22 for one day (Saturday or Sunday) or £30 for Saturday and Sunday (both days) - price buys 2 adult tickets plus a car pass for the infield club space so good value. Not many grandstand spaces but if the weather is good a great place to watch those late 90s touring cars rubbing bumpers again. John

I'm definitely up for this. Shall we make it our Spring Northern/Midlands meet?

Which day John Sweet are the most Alpines going to be there on do you think?

I've booked my tickets and will be there on Saturday. I have another event on the following Monday and want a gap between them.

I have booked for Sunday. Incidentally, you can also book a parade pass for an extra £10 which gives you 3 laps of the track

For those of you who wish to take part in the track parade, here are the details.

John

Dear Club Organiser

We are very much looking forward to welcoming your club's members to the Donington Historic Festival.

PARADES
This year we have a new system for the lunchtime parades. In the past spaces were allocated to the various clubs, but this year, with the introduction of non-club parking in the infield (our pre-1990 display area, which will be separate from the car club stands), we have opened up the parades to holders of the pre-1990 parking passes as well as members of the registered car clubs.

We have set up a booking page where people can secure their place on a parade by ordering a parade vehicle pass. Places will be allocated on a first-come, first-served basis. Please see: http://www.doningtonhistoric.com/parades/

With the increase of insurance and staffing costs I'm afraid we have had to introduce a small charge for taking part in the parades - £10 a car (regardless of number of occupants).

I will email all car club bookers to make them aware of this opportunity. If you wish to secure any parade places for your club, you will need to book via the link above. Please note, all the car's occupants must also have a valid entry ticket for the Festival.

With best wishes

Karen

Handful of pics from Sat/Sun, sorry there's only a few, I was there in a Dauphine Gordini.......which I omitted to photograph, lots to look at, historic touring cars, Jagwuars, Astons, Bastos SD1, open pits, club two for one offer made the weekend a bargain.
Thanks to Rob S for giving me a kick up the .....to make the effort.

I was there on Sunday, only 2 cars in the CAR parking area. I saw your Dauphine - very smart. My father had a Gordini in the 60`s.
Superb day, with great action on the track. Excellent value too.

Can't complain about the weather too much, but the wind was bloody cold!

Great weekend and as the others have said, fantastic value with the club discounts especially compared with Silverstone Classic, and it's a much shorter journey for me than Spa. Anyone going to Spa in a couple of weeks time? Let's see some pictures if you are
