Prescott 26th 27th May 2018 - back to the old arrangements!

Postby stephendell » Wed Aug 02, 2017 9:17 pm

Looks like Prescott have come to their senses following this year's lack of attendance. Car Clubs now welcome again!

La Vie en Bleu/La Vita Rossa Saturday 26 – Sunday 27 May 2018

On the weekend of Saturday 26 and Sunday 27 May 2018, the twelfth annual ‘ La Vie en Bleu’ returns to Prescott Hill Climb, Gotherington, Gloucestershire – home of the Bugatti Owners' Club. The two day event is a firm favourite on the motoring calendar, the recent introduction of ‘La Vito Rossa’ also incorporates an Italian theme too. Prescott Hill Climb will be transformed into a celebration of French and Italian automobiles, themed music and entertainment plus top class racing with special competition classes open for French and Italian marques.

Car Clubs Welcome: We would like to actively encourage French and Italian car clubs to attend, hence the early ‘save the date’ email. Unlike this year, designated ‘car club’ stands will be allocated for visiting car clubs with 20 x cars or more confirmed. Car Clubs are welcome to fly their own feather flags in their designated area and pitch a gazebo. An individual car club code would be generated, and we can keep you updated on numbers.

If you have any queries, please do not hesitate to contact me.

We look forward to welcoming you back to Prescott.

LOL

Serves them right. They obviously took a hit in the pocket this year, plus it didn't have the same vibe so probably got a lot of negative comments.

Sometime you have to try things and learn from failures.

Divorce springs to mind too.

So no stands for some of the other more interesting marques then....
Are there 20 Venturi in the UK, or Facel Vega, or Matra (unless they include the Renault Avantime), Panhard, Gordini... or what about older stuff like Darracq or Delahay or the other 200 odd small motor manufacturers in the history of France?
Or what about the odd-ball stuff like the Renault Engined San Storm or my own Renault Engined Hudson (I probably wouldn't want to drive it across the country tbh anyway...).

So basically they want the bigger clubs only and FcUk the others...
IMO it's clearly still just a money making exercise for them rather than a genuine themed event.

Yes, that's an option (quite a sensible one :crazy )...
Just having an 'Other French Car' parking stand where someone can park a Jide or whatever, so people can see it (and he can have an info page in the window), rather than a 'club' stand, which as you say, may be a non-internet 2 cars in the UK club...

I hope we do get the caravan and some support it's always nice to have a club pitch with the caravan it looks good especially as the Citroen lot do the same!

Thinking of stopping at the hotel Friday and Saturday this year, usually only do Saturday which means getting up at stupid o'clock Saturday morning, anyone else planning the same?

Yes that's the plan and no idea as the man in charge left Renault unexpectedly on Friday!

Thank you.

Stephen,
what is the current plan?
and order or ceremonies?
and cavalcade/parking options?
I am planning to attend the weekend and race my Fat asp Testarossa up the hill on the Saturday and stay over in a hotel.
What competitors are booked in?
What hotel has been block booked?
