CAR Membership

Postby simontaylor » Wed Sep 29, 2004 11:22 am

Does CAR give GTA owners what they want?
Should I renew my membership?
Will you be renewing your membership?

CAR : As a member of this offical car club which seems set in it's ways, You get a newsletter, a "Le Journal" mag, afffiliated to MSA and a web site. Other plus's include the model registrar's, who probably get asked the same questions again and again.

Stephen has given GTA owners, a much more informative and interactive web site, organised events (UK and international), set up meets and all for free.

What to do ???
1986 : '86 GTA v6 BW-EFR turbo, with Adaptronic ECU
Firsts at
2007 : Gurston Down & RAOC Champion
2008 : Rushmoor & Eelmoor & ACSMC Hillclimb class Champion
2009 : Longcross & Eelmoor
2010 : Crystal Palace & Eelmoor
2016 : Rushmoor & 5th O/A

I'll be renewing for the curburough day.

If your not happy with the club, Go along to the AGM (preferably 'mob' handed) and change the club.
Who wants to be chairman, secretary, etc etc ?

But If 'The GTA Boys' get in and run the club then you must allow for all cars, Not just GTAs (or the A110 boys will be saying the same about you....).

There are real problems setting up a new club, but trying to run an existing one better for it's members is much easier (but still alot of work for some).
And being a club does have benefits!
Alpine A110, Renault Safrane 2.5dt, Hudson Kindred Spirit (Renault powered), transAlp (Honda) and Ducati Multistrada

Have to admit the Curborough track day is good value and probably worth the membership fee on its own, if you plan to attend.

The magazine is usually worth a read too.

Don't say I'm not gracious 8)
