I thought I should give an update on the hardest project I have ever taken on. Since I bought this car I now have two kids and changed job lol. I have been driving this car a lot during the last few months, clocked up over 1000 reliable miles!!! as the car seem to be happy, I thought I should treat it to a Dyno test to see how many horses the car as lost or gained :D . Anyway I took it on Monday and I was suitably impressed with the results. The car is completely standard. 242BHP with a good torque of 282. Next I will try and remove the CAT, to see how much more power can be gained.

A brilliant result on the rolling road! Torque is what really matters when it comes to acceleration and 280 lb/ft is BIG!

I have found out some interesting information about my A610 last night. I was going through the previous owner history, which can be purchased through the DVLA for not a lot. I knew the first owner was Renault UK, but to my suprise ,I never noticed that a couple of months later it was registered/exported to a Mr Nigel Ernest James Mansell in the Isle of Man!! and kept the car until 1998. Maybe I should drive it over to see him, so he could sign my dashboard :up :up will this increase the value to £100k now? :Cheer

Hey Filippo ..... Don't go rushing off to the Isle of Man, Nigel has relocated to Jersey together with a collection of the F1 race cars that he won races with together with all his Trophies and loads of memorabilia. He bought an old 1930 built Car dealership garage and has converted the upper floor for his collection, and has recently been appointed the Mitsubishi Main Agent which his son, Leo, is running. :)

Hey JohnC I spy an opportunity here for you to become the middle man between Phildini and Mansell to get his car back!

Don Dini, I would ask £125,995 just to beat the Beaver transfer record!!!

This jogged my memory, as when I was looking for my car ( 1998/99 ) I remember seeing an A610 for sale at Trentons, a Renault dealer Humderside area, possibly Beverley thinking about as I have been past it recently on the bike and it clicked.
We later had a Clio RSi that originally came from the same dealer so that's why it shuck in my bonce, anyway the A610 was either advertised as ex Mansell or I rang up about it and found out it was.
If my memory serves me right it was about ten grandish, which I did consider pushing the boat out for but was too rich for me at the time.
Can't recall the colour but it was in the Autotrader so will have been in black and white anyway, but if he had it up until 98 then the dates are about right.
Hope that useless information is of some use. :geek:

turbell, thank you for this info and you might be right as the owner from him lived in IMMINGHAM DN40 which is around 30 miles away. A chap on here called "Yellow Mellow", I think his car has "Williams F1" on the reg book, whereas my reg book states his full name and address. Yellow man are you out there?

JohnC, can you drop in to his dealership and see if he wants it back, I'll give a drink if you sell it :Cheer I think MVS price is fair....

Turbell has just re-jogged my memory again as I definitely read in an old CAR Le Journal that Mansell's old A610 was for sale at Renault Hull but for around £20k rather than 10. It was also wearing the reg A610 MAN but I guess this might have been made up for show as some people do what do you think G10 Dini? :Butt

I will have a look through all my old Le Journals this weekend which I love doing anyway. :super
