Darren managed to source another block and liner set but again liner seats are dodgy where the shite settles .Block due back here this week with two new seats fitted ala Rottbott .
All the rest ready to build up once I get the block and measure for liner protrusion .Had a set of seat seals for old block but new is later crossbolt and so bigger diameter .....back order from Renault again .

Pffffffffffft...... don't worry about it Si. From my experience Gods are like Tupperware - someone's always trying to sell you see-through crap you don't need.

I'm very excited to see my new engine in so many hitherto hidden parts, although the engine's turning into a bit of a Trigger's Broom. Big thanks to Mr StunnedMonkey for the block, and to Lee of course for the hard work and skinned knuckles so far. I'm hoping my car will be up and running again for the Spring!
I'm just here for the gasoline.

Mind I have found some cams that are a little wilder than normal if you fancy throwing them in with the low comp pistons ??? .....

Ok, for the uninitiated (me), how can you tell it's a cross bolted block thingy and not a 'normal' block? This is meant to be better in some way? Sorry if it's already been discussed to death!!

Andy.
