Hi Martin, should be out at Croix. Are you sure its pt no. 77 03 090 245 that apparently fails? Groove and hole look the same. Ratios are different.

Hey Clee, I'll send you a couple, owe you one for getting me that linkage bush when mine gave out at Bruntingthorpe. Whats your address.

Looks like we'll be going with the steel turbine wheels now so big boost can be an option.

Hi Chris heres some bell housing pics, sorry a bit late dont get on here enough..

Billet air intakes arrived today so can start to plumb in the twin chargecoolers.

I've simplified the water feed and returns, Safrane one piece waterpump retained to eliminate any rubber hose in the V.

Few more things ready to fit.

The actuators needed modifying as the compressor housings have been clocked to a new position. Brackets and actuators then cleaned and POR15 coated, ready to fit.
Image

Driveshafts cleaned and POR15 coated.
Image

Twin chargecoolers with basic boost pipe layout. Now making brackets to fit.
Image

As its a new install we didnt want to run with the 20+ year old knackered loom, so the engine bay is being treated to a complete new loom. All new sensors, plugs, connectors and various gauge wire has arrive so work can commence.

We are also running wasted spark so that will eliminate the problematic rotor arm and distributor cap. Makes for a cleaner looking install too.

Image

Picked up my new toy. Looking forward to making some billet ali brackets on it soon!

Cheers. Running single pump and rad with the twins. Charge temps will be lower than with the single turbo setup running the same boost so the current CC rad will be up to the job. Running out of space for oil cooler/rads etc.

Havent had much chance to play with the lathe yet, will give you a call.

Heres the new trial fitted rear brakes with the seperate handbrake spot caliper. These are the 335x30mm drilled straight vane. Final fit will be 330x30mm grooved and spotted, curved vane.

Image

Heres another pic to compare size with original disk.

Cheers, John.

Hey Simon, the new setup only works out 1.5kg more than the standard setup per corner. Most of this is the rotor as the calipers are very light.

Got the water pipes tailored to fit the engine bay, just need to tig on the fitting for the header tank and thats another job out of the way.
Image

The new loom for the rear of the car is coming together nicely. The engine bay is almost complete. Im really happy with it so far.

This was just the beginning of the spaghetti fest.
Image

Some of the finished loom.
Image
Image

Ecu mounted and additional in car wiring being layed out. Some modifications to the seats had to be made to clear the Ecu and flying lead but now its all in you cant tell anything other than the original renix is lurking behind the seating..
Image

Next job is fabricating the chargecooler hangers and making lots of brackets!

really  my kit for the spider is a kilo lighter than the original setup,

so you've gone backwards instead of lightening the unsprung weight to improve driveabiity you've added weight

Billet 4's are significantly lighter than Monster 6 but I guess there is the extra weight of the handbrake caliper to account for. Also I noticed John had the pads, brackets and bolts in the new set up when he weighed it and think the old ones were out. Rotors are not the final fit or size so he should re-weigh when the smaller curved vanes arrive like for like.

Guessing probably not possible to go from 259 to 330 without adding some weight though. Spider/A610 has advantage 300mm disk is much heavier to start with and calipers are bigger/heavier too. Can't see Porsche dropping down to piddly GTA size disks to save a kg per corner.
Trafic, Twingo GT, Vel Satis Turbo x 2, Clio V6 Proto Ph2, Vel Satis 3.5, Avantime, Alpine A610, GTA Atmo x 3, GTA Turbo x 3, R5 Gordini Turbo Mid Engine, Alpine A310 4cyl, Alpine A110, Yellow Smart
