GTA BARN FIND

Postby phildini » Thu Nov 22, 2012 5:20 pm

Well.... kind off, off the road for 10 years, I fancied the Scarlet red colour and the fact it was a H reg and the price seemed reasonable ( cheaper than a R5 GT Turbo LOL ). Drove it back yesterday 150Miles in floods and high winds, poor thing drove very well. Seems solid enough, good starting point I guess, came with years mot and tax, so should have many months of happy motoring ahead of me

Dimma's were the dogs bullocks in my youth. They were converted just up the road from me near Delamere (not far from where we have the Winter Northern Meet). Would look much better in blue or white though. Like an early Clio V6.

Nice barn find Phildini. Like that darker red colour too on the GTA. Pretty rare I guess. 8)

And how would that fit into my collection? I only do standard DIEPPE BUILT RENAULTS!!! What purpose does all that fibreglass have?

Yes it was on Ebay recently, I was bidding but then forgot to bid that little bit more. The seller then contacted me as the winning bidder could not afford the insurance ( Typical Ebay Idiot ). I thought it was MVS that actually won the auction as it seemed cheap to me.

It was nice to be back behind the wheel of this very under rated sports car. Oh, and yes I much prefer the GTA in scarlet, but not so much on a A610...... Strange that :? .

No I can afford the insurance but not the car

I was tempted to bid though...

What's the plans with it? Get it painted then punt it on?

That is funny Lee, phill that GTA looks good bud I agree that colour looks better on the GTA than the 610. What are your plans for for it?

Plan is actually to keep it hopefully, Fieldmouse is provisionally booked in for painting in the new year, in the meantime I will be tinkering with it making all pretty again. Seems all very good under, have minor electrical issues and today I discovered it has ABS.
