GTA rear panel

Postby paulrob100 » Mon Aug 03, 2015 2:45 pm

The rear panel on my GTA, the semi opaque one between the rear lights, needs tidying up. The thing is, I cant see how to get it off the car.

Does anyone know if its held on with screws or clips?. I don't want to force it in case I damage it. It feels like one of the brackets/clips/screws is missing or broken anyway. Looking inside the engine compartment reveals nothing. Any advice would be appreciated.

Thanks, Paul

Are you just looking to spray it up? If so you can slide a bit of newspaper or card up behind it very easily, to cover the intercooler, mask around and spray in situ and that works pretty well.

If not sorry I can't remember the exact details of how it mounts, but I know they can be delicate due to the age of the plastic if / when you remove them.
I'm just here for the gasoline.

You have to remove the rear lights to get at the screws for the grill

Thanks guys

I do want to spray it , but ideally I would like to take it off & spend a little time prepping it & trying to fix the broken stud. Guess rear light removal is on the schedule ! :pint
