New suspension needed advice please

Postby Jochem » Thu Oct 08, 2015 10:02 am

Hello ...my GTA needs new suspension
The rear shocks a not that great anymore.
And the front is probably the same age..so i want to change that too.

It is just for riding down the street...no racing.

What are the options ..?
Oem replacement
Coil cover
Ore uprated ...normal shocks...?

What are the quality's
And brands that still got them.

Maybe there is al topic about this ..Sorry I missed it.

Thank you

I can't help with the suspension question but just wanted to say, what a great collection of cars you have.

Hi Jochem,

For the gta I believe you have the choice between oe suspension or adjustable spax/gaz/Koni coilovers.

Clee at RATS or Stephen Dell, both on this forum can get the spax

http://www.renaultalpine.co.uk/viewtopic.php?f=3&t=2078

Paulya610 on here can get you the gaz

Spax and koni and oe are available from Simon auto (well at least they are listed, not sure if they are available...)

http://www.simon-auto.de/alpine/englisch/v6_tuning.htm

Probably other choices....
There are mixed opinions on which is best, use the search feature you'll find loads of threads on this topic
Hope This helps

Just as a caveat, I see you are in Holland.

How are they with modifications and TUV approval ?
I am in Norway and neither the Spax nor Gaz kits are possible to be approved here because the TUV certification provided by the companies is not accepted by the roads authority.
Something about Norwegian regulations requiring the individual components to be TUV certified, and all the spring rates, bump and rebound stuff listed, and information about ride heights so they can calculate the effects on geometry.
Gaz and Spax are certified as a company and don't offer this

I have a set of Gaz, which are fine, but I have to put the OEM ones back on every time I take it for any sort of test
