A610 The Eden Project

Postby clee » Sun Sep 25, 2016 1:18 pm

This one has just arrived at RATS all the way from Sheffield ...bit of a tale attached and only recently stolen recovered ! like within the last week !! I blame Tom for that ;)
10 years sitting outside but it's another one that will be saved .Long term ....first job is total strip-down .It's mist rising before anyone mentions my dodgy phone pics again.
Lost keys ...does anyone know if new barrel sets are still available from Renault .Or does anyone have a full set please ?
LOOOONG term project this one .I can't even think about thinking about it till Spring at least but would be good to get some parts in place and interior out and off for refresh .It's here so can grab a few hours here and there to get things off and started .
It ain't pretty but the owner is fully committed to full resto ...or should that be he should be committed ?

Great news that's it's been recovered and being restored! :up

Scary stuff that it got pinched though, just shows the power of the internet has good and bad traits.

Wow that is good that another alpine has been saved! It will be interesting to see how bad the rot will be in that one too.
As Martin says its goes to show how the internet can be good and bad these days.

Wow that was an unexpected result, if only I'd known it was that easy lol.

How did it come to RATS if you are allowed to say?

Lee,
pop down your local locksmith.
I had a new key made for mine and all he needed was the reg and chassis number!

Or give the REG and VIN to Dave, perhaps he can ask his locksmith to cut a couple of keys for you?

Ok you lot.... Time for some more pictures of this "Eden Project..."

I popped up to collect my GTA today, and while I was at RATS, I took some photos...
These are not for the faint hearted...
I was just amazed at the condition, and how quickly things grow, never mind the nest of small Spiders in the rear glass ( All now dead!! )

I suppose it makes for an interesting blank canvas. You can't complain about fiddling with originality on that.

Out of curiosity and for the 610 register, who is the owner of the vehicle, Tom or somebody else bought it, or is it still the original owner??

I'm not exactly sure how long owned but still with current owner. Was just parked up about 10 years ago outside the house in Sheffield and not moved since.

Interior stripped apart from dash and hoping to get it on the ramp for deeper poking next week .It's a full resto game-on over the next year or so and we will bring it back to life no matter what .Owner has no intention of selling,it's for life :pray
Plan is full strip to shell and all rot sorted so all panels off, engine out,all out,off and in :weed
Has had previous front end repairs, pass side and not that well but we'll sort that .
L702 EAY get it on the in progress list Simon ;)
