A310 gearbox

Postby xranalli » Sat Apr 15, 2017 1:16 pm

Dear friends
I noted that the gearbox of my car is not fantastic: I mean that the gearchange, especially when I move from 1° to 2° or from 3° to 2° it is not precise, if inexpert person tests the car he can risk to try to put retro (at the beginning I did it...); now I ask it is normal? It is possible to improve it?

Btw when we put the retro we should push down the gearbox lever...is it right?

I assume for 'retro' you mean reverse gear.

No, the gear lever doesn't push down, well it doesn't on my Phase 1 car and I think the Phase 2 is the same. To engage reverse you move the gear lever to the left, in neutral, until the white, circular disc (in the other thread photos) makes contact with the reverse stop (2nd photo) and keep moving the lever left as the white disc goes under the stop against pressure of the spring below the disc. Then pull the lever back to engage reverse gear. This is done in one movement as I'm sure you've found.

In the second photo on the other thread the black marking on the left of the disc is from where it goes under the reverse stop plate when the lever is in reverse gear.
