Spider rear suspension refresh

Postby eastlmark » Mon Nov 26, 2018 8:40 am

After seeing Ruperts report on his rear wishbones corroding I thought mine looked a bit ropy so needed to get them off, clean up and repair any damage. Pleased to report no sign of corrosion and drain holes nice and clear so unless media blasting shows up any hidden damage they will be coated (not decided what with yet) and re fitted. Ball joints all tight and rubbers in good nick too. Only done one side so far, will start on the other this week.

never thought I would want a list but now find myself needing one just to remind me: Clio V6 230, Clio cup racer- for sale- (X85), Clio 200 (X98) clio 182 (X65) (Riku's), Renault sport twin turbo in Black (van), Spider (Xciting) Clio220 Trophy.

"drain holes" look like pin holes.
I would suggest enlarging them to about 12mm.
RUSTBUSTER http://www.rust.co.uk is very good, used it on my subframe.
Epoxymastic 121 Chassis paint, but lower prices from ebay distributers.
