Thanks Lee.

The wire goes up the front of the engine bay, so its hard to trace with the rear of the car on ramps. At least I can now trace it when I get it on the ground.

After several weeks of not being able to look at the car, I have finally found time. As mentioned, the wires go up the front of the engine bay, then promptly turn round & go back down. With the car on ramps i could see the connector but it is incredibly difficult to get to. i did manage to get fingertips on it & move it around a bit, hopefully enough to get the contact cleaner i sprayed on it to penetrate. Ill have to wait & see as there s not much chance of giving it a test drive.

Another suggestion is that you could pull the sensor out of the gearbox and check it's clean. Over time it can attract muck which can affect its performance.

Just a thought.

Yes that's a good suggestion thanks. I will be checking the car over for its MOT soon, so Il get it up on the ramps & have a look.
