New DD and Motorsport car

Postby miles thomas » Sat Oct 29, 2016 4:34 pm

Ok so I have gone all modern this time with a car just 2 years old. I have had it just over a week and only done the work run but loving it. Not sure why this car hasn't been that well received I know it's not a manual but I must be getting old because I really like sticking it in D and just wafting along. Anyway I have a Spider for the analogue stuff.
I think the first vid (link below) gives a very good idea of the car and Chris Harris gives as always a fair opinion. And it's better than me trying to tell you what it's like.
The second vid is just a nice little look at how they nail them together in the Dieppe factory.

I would like to see how the car goes at Prescott and anyway it's a good excuse to use the launch control :D So watch this space I think it's going to be fun getting to know this car.
Not really had much time for photos but here's a couple and you can see it polishes up nicely ;)

never thought I would want a list but now find myself needing one just to remind me: Clio V6 230, 5 gt turbo, 5 Gordini turbo, Megane RS 300 Trophy.

Ok bit late posting this up but I am doing it now. In April I went off to Prescott to do the refresher hill climb school. This is a great day out and as it was the refresher there was not much fannying about just walk the hill and then off you go. In total I think we did 13 or 14 runs up the hill and had the usual breakfast, lunch. and tea and cake. I was in good company in the paddock,as I was put next to a V6 Clio and there was about 30 cars on the hill in total.
Few photos enjoy :)

Hi Paul
I know what you mean. When I booked it that was the intention but with the changes for that weekend I didn't want to just do the sprint. For me I really enjoy the whole weekend and by that I mean the social side on Saturday and then the racing on Sunday. All getting together having a club stand, staying the night and making a whole weekend of it that's what I liked.
We will have to see what happens next year. Or as a club maybe we could pick a new hill climb to support and get behind.

Indeed!

I went along to have a nose at the new format and watch the RAOC boys attack the hill, but yes it was all about the whole weekend experience for me during previous years.
