Yes, Norway !

Postby BobFromNorway » Wed Mar 12, 2014 10:43 am

Hi all, doesn't seem to be an introductions lounge, so this is as good as any ! :up

I can't really give you any details of my car yet, as I haven't even seen it !
In fact, most of you have probably seen it more than I have !

I am buying the black GTA from Lee at RATS. (RATS test mule)

Very much looking forward to collecting it on the 22nd. :ugeek:

New to Alpines, but LLLOOOONNNGGG car history, so this will be an interesting experience,no doubt.

I'm a Scottish guy, living and working in Norway, I hope to get the car legally imported here, but if not, I'll find a way aroud the rules

Bob!!
Welcome to the Madness that is Alpine...
My car is also at RATS, and I have seen your car, and I know you will be enjoying driving it very soon...
I too have a GTA Turbo,( in Black ) as well as the A610, and like many on this forum, we all have had our part in keeping the Alpine name alive.
I for one, look forward to reading any posts and more so pictures of your Alpine with Norway as a back drop.. You must start with your adventure from collecting the car to getting it home... :GTA

Welcome again.. :wave

Welcome Bob. Are you also in the oil industry as well? (Just a guess combining Scotland and Norway)
I'm just here for the gasoline.

It's the RATS trial of the passenger airbag (or firework in a pillowcase)....I think it has been deployed....ouch.
(When it ploughed into Norwegian Bob's recently removed engine)

Oh, I'm a firmly onshore worker.

Actually moved here for love and blundered into oil, rather than the other way around...............

I'm firmly onshore too, much more sensible.

But Lee's experience was with a offshore worker who tried to use his head to stop a section of the drill stem by all accounts. Luckily he was ok given a few months in hospital.. :wtf

That's looking great Lee. :pray

Nothing like new balls, it looks like those ones were just hanging there, rather than firmly gripped..................

Very much looking forward to it.

And home............... :up

Car drives like an absolute dream.
Not without it's teething troubles, I now have a speedo which only works when you turn left, and a heater fan which works for about a minute at a time, then refuses to budge until the car is restarted.
And a radio which went BZZZTTT halway through denmark, and now sounds like you have cotton wool in your ears..............

Still, not the end of the world, it wouldn't be a French car if it didn't have electrical gremlins !!

Nice to meet Lee, and thanks for the Sunday morning taxi ride . :wave

:RATS

Glad you're home safe and sound Bob .
Probably the longest run it's had in a few years so good to hear it all went without issue apart from the above .Speedo was a bit intermittent but usually the rear screen on/off sorts it out .Blower might just be dodgy earths and radio .........
Keep using it and it'll probably fix itself .. :GTA
