Some photos of the suspension as it came off the car and the interior now it is all out.

It took ages to get all the bushes out of the arms their are a total of 30 bushes to remove plus all the ball joints and rod ends. All the arms are now ready to be blasted and painted.

New radiator turned up today along with a new air con rad (Renault 25 V6)

More progress yesterday I removed the fuel tanks which looked easy but it was far from easy as the plastic tanks seem to have expanded over the years and were really stuck in the body the first tank took me 3hrs to remove the 2nd one only an hour.

I found when i got the tanks out that the fuel lift pump which sits in the bottom of the tank had come off the fuel outlet pipe so the pump was just pumping fuel around the inside of the tank.

Now the tanks are out I can make a start on the welding which looks easier than I thought it was going to be.

I have added a parts list excel sheet with all the components and where they come from. Everything is easily obtainable and cheap which makes a changes from the norm.

Tanks out for welding, seems you have the same rusty sills & chassis rails as I did.

Top work on the spread sheet Ian, a few bits I didn't have info on, well done fella. :super :up

Yep keep up the good work. That list of parts make the Venturi look cheaper to run than a GTA.

I have been working on the car over the last few days and have got a lot done.

All the rust is now cut out in the sills and I have started welding new metal back in. I made up the frames to support so i can turn it on its side once the welding is finished which should be Thursday.

I then have someone coming on Monday to soda blast most of the car so it can then be repainted and undersealed.

I need some help identifying the black box in the bottom right of the 1st photo its next to the ECU.

Blimey you are de man!

The black box looks similar to the "5th" ABS sensor on a GTA. Has it got ABS?

Ok my second ill informed guess would be fuel pump cut off relay...the one for the crash event, does it have a reset button?... Any numbers on the outside, I find Google can be remarkably effective if there is a number...

I suspect the black box in question is the turbo bearing timer, it is a timer that allows oil to continue to be supplied to the turbo after the engine is turned off, it runs for about 15 minutes to protect the bearings, I don't believe the GTA or A610 have it.

I have a near complete “workshop manual” for the Venturi and according to this it appears to be that timer; I will email you a pdf of that page. The workshop manual is somewhat short and similar to a Renault manual; I will discuss it with you in the email. :up

A 610 , not a GTA, has a supplementary water pump to cool the turbo after turn off, but not oil. Trust the Venturi to go one better and use oil.... :up

Ah, I stand corrected sir, I knew the GTA did not have the whizzie turbo protection.

I thought it was oil that the Venturi uses to protect the turbo but it could be water.
