There once was a ugly duckling...................
http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/1987-RENAULT- ... SwAvJXCrG3£3k and no bids? Looks like an honestish seller 'cos if I'd sold it and whoever came for it backed out they'd had a gob full !
You bid to buy, apologies to anyone on here if it was you who backed out,( no idea of the circumstances) but.............an auction is an auction, that's why Ebay is messing some values up.
Anyways this car ain't getting much attention and I haven't seen it and have no connection to the seller, but if I was in the area I'd give it the once over.
The presentation for anything other than for a spares and repairs scrap heap is woeful but, look closer and there are a few pointers that despite being filthy and parked in a waterlogged field this could be a decent buy.
Everything at least looks present, engine bay is OE, no bits of daft pipe or cable ties, interior is all there including carpets that are not too green, it's an early car without all the tat, numbers on the speedo are low, it's had rear sub work, whether it's any good is unknown but blasting will have shown up thin parts.
I might be way off the mark with this one, and shiny paint sells cars, but a proper wash, some wax and a silver aerosol on the wheels and a vac out parked on a gravel drive and this one would sell for good money.
There will be issues, that's a given, but at least people are being honest and sensible when they come to light.
It's even got a ticket, so a bid, a train ticket, a gallon of water and carrier bag of tools and you could have it on the drive!
Compare it to the red one at 6k, that looks like the scrapyard dog has slept in the drivers footwell and it looks even better value.
Presentation, presentation, presentation, why would anyone pay six grand for a car that looks like when you went for it you'd get murdered and put in an old ice cream van to be found in ten years time.
