question about GTA and 310 frame

Postby xranalli » Fri Jan 06, 2017 1:52 pm

Dear Friends
my question is how much it is different the frame of GTA from the A310...
I know that GTA is little bit bigger than 310 but I read that its frame is strongly derived from A310...
thanks

From what I've seen of GTA chassis on this forum there are some obvious differences.
The A310 does not have a detachable rear subframe so you can't remove the engine/gearbox/suspension as a unit. The A310 has minimal parts of the chassis hidden inside fibreglass sections, e.g. no chassis steel in the sills and, at the front, the A310 doesn't have a front crossmember inside a fibreglass box section.

Here's a page from the A310V6 parts book showing the chassis. I don't have a similar one for the GTA unfortunately.
