Re: New GTA Project

After a load of grief fitting the custom starter motor, which entailed machining the engine block , the billet mounts for the starter and the adaptor plate to get the bloody thing to fit and work , and a 5 week wait for my electric water pump from America things are moving again.

New stainless steel water pipes fitted front to rear, and new big bore copper fuel line. Its calculated we need 540 ltr/min so investigating that at the moment. Any body recommend anything? Do I need a swirl pot?

Electric pump fitted - really nice quality bit of kit apparently worth 20 bhp

Mounts are finished and at the powder coaters. Hopefully be bolted in the car next week ready to wire up.

Springs are now here, quite a trick set up, have shamelessly copied JL Engineerings set up. Coil over with adjustable platforms and helper springs.

That pump looks amazing looks like a small super charger, l bet the right foot is starting to get a bit restless, you will need to put a Lemans kit on to fit the large rear tyres in.

Tony, is the 540l/min the fuel or water capacity. If it's fuel, you'll need a bigger tank too.,,,assume it's 540 ml/minute?
I like the electric water pump idea too.
Looking like it's coming along well, have you had the body wrapped yet? When do you hope for the trial run?

Yes my bad litres per hour not min :Butt . Basically 2 Walbro 255s should handle it, some nice stuff available on line that incorporates the pumps and swirl pot as 1 unit.

Not wrapped yet Lee need to get all the mechanical stuff done first. Probably going to go with Mercedes Selenite Grey Magno as its tungsteny (if that's a word :crazy ) so door shuts etc should match reasonably well, wheels still undecided but like the idea of a satin metallic finish to match the matt metallic Magno. I know it won't be to everyones taste but should look proper hard :axe

That's the car 5 years ago the sls was my next car sold my sl55 and the sls 63 values where on the way down I thought by now they would be down to sub 40 like the sl.
Then Big cube engines where not popular with politicians and the new sls 4.something turbo was the replacement, turbos do not replace cubic inches for grunt every where, and the sls 6.3 is now worth more than when they where new, back to +£150,000. The car you are building will be amazing I am tempted to do the same because the big block stuf is coming to an end, 2 years from now I reckon you will not allowed to get that engine in Uk/Eu

In that case, I am keeping my 12 pot.
Just wont be transplanting it in to GTA as not enough room unless I move the bulkhead forward of the rear seats.
Now there's a project and a half.
