Alpine now with Irish passport

Postby Shutit » Thu Dec 21, 2017 5:38 pm

Hi All,
Thought would post the latest news on my Alpine GTA. I bought the car from Martin last August, running well but needing paint.
Got it to Ireland early September and almost straight away had it at the body shop. Today I picked it up and have it at home, ready to tinker with the dodgy electrical stuff and a general interior tidy. The body shop guys in Cork did a fantastic job on the car, all glass was taken out and the doors off too. Got the rear graphics scanned by a local graphics company and all window seals came from Simon. Today was also first time to fit the new Irish number. So D299 LFX is now 87 LK 11015. Below are a few pictures of the process and how it looks now. Nice and bright on a dull December day!
Cheers
Eddie

That was a lovely straight GTA, it looks as if the body shop did a proper strip back to gel and plastic.
I think GTA's really look fantastic in straight red, the car is a credit to you, that's a ten from me.
Enjoy.

Thanks guys.
There was no big problems with the shell, thankfully! I am looking forward to spring to get some decent miles out of it. But first will try and sort the niggly electrical things to make it even better! Cheers

Drops make it look better, but as suspension not adjustable, it won’t actually handle better and wii have greater tyre wear...wasn’t somone doing adjustable rear arms to fix that?

As we have lots of speed humps around here, more ground clearance is a blessing.....I have one car where speed humps result in scraping, makes driving it a pain in reality...

Happy Christmas everyone...

The Irish roads are like the Paris Dakar roads :) so will leave it at normal height.
The Alpine gets a lot of attention in Ireland.... positive kind thankfully!
Happy Christmas all and have a good new year.
Cheers
