Nicci and I have done a few of these and we always leave Thursday, stop somewhere decent overnight (it always aligns with our wedding anniversary, so a posh Chateau is an easy win for me :) ) and rendevouz at the Escatel on Friday eve. Leave Sunday after final lunch and repeat for the journey home.

I've had Spider-chat with Antoine (the chap in the RHD French registered yellow Spider - the exact negative of my car) and it seems that Lucien has taken another job as Mayor of a town in the area and simply won't have the time to organise more AMAG rallye's after this one, so this might be your last chance to sample the best driving and roads I encounter all year.

Stephen - did you manage to make contact with Lucien to confirm our numbers?

Phil

not falling for the "last ever" talk again!
never thought I would want a list but now find myself needing one just to remind me: Clio V6 230, 5 gt turbo, 5 Gordini turbo, Megane RS 300 Trophy.

I hear you Mark....

Reckon this has a little more validity than last time, but hey, whatever it takes to get more folks out there this year :)

Sadly, today's news from France at government level is implying that this will get cancelled. HAve we had any update from the organisers?
Every event, no matter how small, in my work calendar has been postponed now too. :crazy

Hi all,
I was also wondering along the same lines as Lee as I saw the following on a French News Channel today.

French Government Bans Gatherings of More Than 100 People.

Following the shutdown of schools and universities announced by France’s President Emmanuel Macron on Thursday, the French prime minister has now banned gatherings for more than 100 people to contain the outbreak of coronavirus in the country.

The new ban, announced by the prime minister has not been dated. A spokesperson of the Minister of Health told Variety that it will probably be dated at some point today. In a televised interview on Thursday, Macron called coronavirus the “biggest health crisis that France has known in a century.” He called for the shutdown of schools, universities and colleges across the country starting on March 16 for an undetermined amount of time.
While Macron did not use the word “quarantine” in his speech, he also asked that individuals limit traveling to and from work as much as possible. Those over the age of 70 were also advised to stay home.

Several high-profile events have already been canceled in France, including the international TV showcase MipTV, and Series Mania, the TV drama festival in Lille, both of which were due to take place at the end of the month.

I guess its a case of watch this space...! :? :?

Cheers, Barry.

Seeing as everyone in France now needs to carry an authorisation form for stepping outside their house, we have zero chance of this event going ahead. Really sad for so many people, as much of a worry for their economics probably as it is for the health issues.

Roll on AMAG Macon 2021 :-)
Spider. Yellow, obviously.

Huge shame this has been cancelled but not surprising really given most of France is in lock down.Locally where I live the Winchester Autobarn Breakfast Club has been cancelled and thats not a big get together.
National Drive It Day is on Sunday 26th April, I can see me going out for a solo drive in the Yellow Peril then back home...!

Cheers, Barry.
